Sofia, a young lady of just 40 years of age affected by familial Alzheimer’s disease, has decided to join our cause and share with us her amazing story.
In the brief profile she wrote for us, she talks about a family plagued by the disease, strong women who fight to support their loved ones, misdiagnosis (maybe because of these issues), and fear of the future.
Sofia embodies all of the reasons why we exist. She is a caregiver, a patient and a highly motivated health educator; a wonderful woman who does not want to let the disease win. We feel privileged to be working with her, and I encourage all of you to read her story and follow her blog.
